After many and intense negotiations between CRSTB, the NTDC and the executive of the Hoteliers Association, we are happy to announce that a medium has been reached with regards to the registration of hospitality, tourism and related industries.
We invite all the above mentioned operators to register with NTDC, as required by the NTDC degree of 1992. Registration can be done at NTDC or at CRSTB offices in Calabar.
The kick off date for the registration drive is the 2nd of May 2011 and more details regarding the registration is available from CRSTB or NTDC offices.

As part of CRSTB's commitment and drive to increase and standardize the hospitality and tourism industry in Cross River State, I am very happy to say that the Tourism Bureau has partnered with Terenga Ltd to establish an international accredited hospitality and tourism college and training facility here in Calabar.
Terenga College, as it will be called, is the license holder for the American Hotel and Lodging Educational Institute (AHLA-EI - www.ahlei.org). The curricula is identical to that utilized by over 1000 universities, colleges and hotel schools in over 120 countries and will enable Nigerian students to achieve certification of international standards and accreditation.
Student will be able to participate either on a (a) full time (b) trainee / apprentice ship or (c) Distance (correspondence) learning basis.
Individual Courses with AHLA Certification, up to three (3) months study, Specialization Courses with AHLA Specialized Certification, up to 18 months study, and AHLA Diploma qualifications, up to three (3) years study, will be initially available for study. FREE ONLINE TRAINING:
Good day all,
What a year it has been thus far! So much to do ...... so little time.
Part of the strategy of the Cross River State Tourism Bureau this year, is the setting up of an International Accredited Hospitality Training Institute in Calabar. And I am pleased to report that it is going very well, and I will have more on this in the very near future.
However, I came accross a webpage that offers a wide range of free travel and tourism tourism training online.
Go ahead and have a look. And pass it on to your employees, as this will increase their knowledge in the industry: http://www.onlinetraveltraining.co.uk/
They also offer free prices for registering and taking certain courses. It is very useful and fun.
Good luck!!!

SEASONS GREETINGS
As the year draws to a close, and we reflect on our accomplishments, set backs and challenges, we have to admit that this year was indeed eventful and filled with some major challenges.
Some of which were overcome but sad to say some have not. But I want us to set the unachieved challenges aside for a while and let us focus on the achieved and be proud.
For these achievements will be our basis, our foundation and we will continue to build and achieve from here on these foundations.
It therefore give me great pleasure to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and an absolute prosperous 2011.
May the Almighty bless you all and your families throughout this festive season and beyond.
Regards,
Francois Booyse and CROSS RIVER STATE TOURISM BUREAU TEAM.
